Nebraska invites participation of our residents and medical students through positions available on the NAFP Board of Directors and on our NAFP committees.
The Academy, through the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians’ Foundation (NAFP/F), provides support to residents and medical students in a variety of ways:
Residents and Students
- Provides funding for residents and medical students to attend the annual AAFP’s National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students in Kansas City
- Provides student memberships through the Adopt-A-Student program
- Provides funding for the Family Medicine Interest Groups at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Creighton University Medical Center
- Scholarships awarded to medical students with a strong interest in Family Medicine (1) DeRoin Scholarship - $750.00 (2) Medical Missions Scholarship - $500.00 (For more information, see NAFP Foundation Award on this website).
- Provides complimentary CME when attending NAFP meetings
National Conference of Family Medicine Residents & Students

AAFP Resident Scholars Competition
-- The program seeks to recognize outstanding papers authored by residents with cash prizes and up to seven honorable mention certificates.
