DeRoin Memorial Scholarships for Medical Students - Information & Application

William A. DeRoin, MD, and his son Dennis DeRoin, MD, were well-respected leaders within the field of Family Medicine and very active in the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians. Two (2) $2,000 DeRoin Scholarships have been created in their memory. These awards will be presented to two (2) selected students at the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians DeRoin Memorial Luncheon on Saturday, March 27, 2021, in conjunction with the 73rd Annual Meeting and Scientific Assembly at the Embassy Suites La Vista Hotel & Conference Center. The winners will be selected by the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians Foundation scholarship selection committee and must be present to accept the award. 

1) NAFP member
2) Nebraska native

3) Attending Creighton University Medical School or the University of Nebraska Medical Center
4) Demonstrates a financial need
5) Has a strong interest in Family Medicine

We are no longer accepting applications for 2021, please check back in December 2021 for an update on the available 2022 scholarships.
