FAMILY MEDICINE POSTER PRESENTATIONS

The Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians is honored to invite medical students and residents to display their research posters at the Nebraska Academy Annual Scientific Assembly on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Younes Conference Center North in Kearney, NE. This invitation extends to any medical student or resident in Nebraska that is interested in sharing their research, regardless if their research advisor is a Family Physician. We hope our Annual Scientific Assembly will provide an opportunity for intellectual collaboration and collegial interaction between residents, medical students and practicing physicians. Residents from Nebraska residency programs, and medical students enrolled in an accredited Nebraska medical school on January 1, 2024, are eligible to submit a research poster proposal to be considered for display at the Scientific Assembly. 

The DEADLINE FOR POSTER PROPOSALS to be submitted is February 29, 2024.

Please complete the information below to submit your poster proposal for consideration. The NAFP office will notify you by email upon approval of your proposal. Posters must be mounted by 5:15 p.m. on Friday, March 22, or between 8:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 23. Please allow time to accomplish this task. Medical students and residents are responsible for delivering completed posters to the Younes Conference Center North in Kearney, NE, and mounting the poster, in compliance with these times. The Academy will provide poster board for completed posters to be mounted by the medical students and residents at the conference. The NAFP will NOT accept posters delivered to the NAFP office.

Participants are invited to attend a complimentary sit-down lunch (DeRoin Scholarship Luncheon) at 12:30 pm on Saturday, March 23, please RSVP with your proposal submission.

We ask medical students and residents to be present to discuss their posters with meeting attendees at the meeting on Saturday, March 23 from 11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Posters remaining at the hotel after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday will be discarded. All participating medical students and residents presenting at the meeting will receive a monetary award. 

Specification Requirements of Poster: 

We understand that many of you use your posters for other projects within your university or program. We do not have a size requirement, however, please see below for the measurements of the foam core board which you will mount your poster on, so you are aware of the size.

Foam Core Board Size: 

The NAFP staff will provide foam core board and clips for posters at the conference center to be mounted to. NAFP staff will be responsible for setting up the display of posters on large easels.
